Blues boss Mick McCarthy has revealed that Guirane N’Daw could be another of last year’s loan players returning Town on a permanent basis this summer. Daryl Murphy, Jay Tabb and David McGoldrick are already back at the club, while the Blues boss also hasn’t ruled out moves for Stephen Henderson and Richard Stearman.

Academy coach Jason Dozzell says this weekend’s U17 tournament in Belgium will be a useful experience for the Blues youngsters. The squad left Suffolk early this morning for the competition which is being hosted by KSC Lokeren on Saturday and Sunday.

Frank Nouble scored twice and Aaron Cresswell the Town goal of the season as three late first half strikes saw the Blues to a 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Portman Road. Palace dominated until keeper Julian Speroni gifted Nouble his first goal for the Blues on 37, then in first half injury time Cresswell slammed in a brilliant second, before another catastrophic error, this time from Peter Ramage, led to Nouble’s second. Mick McCarthy’s men comfortably saw out the second half.

Leiston boss Danny Laws says Town academy striker Tom Winter has been “fantastic” since he joined the Ryman League Premier Division side on loan last month and would be delighted if other young Blues were to spend time at Victory Road in the future. Winter has netted four times since making the temporary switch to Leiston last month.

Academy second-year scholar Tom Winter came on as a 71st minute sub as Leiston and Lowestoft drew 0-0 at Victory Road in a Ryman League Premier Division local derby this afternoon. Striker Winter, one of the five scholars offered a one-year professional contract, joined Leiston on loan on Friday.
